Pentax KM w/ 55mm f/2 SMC K Lens in Excellent Condition
The KM was introduced as the base model for the K-Series of cameras in 1975, was displaced in the lineup by the K1000 in 1976, and discontinued in 1977. The advantage of the KM over the K1000 is that it includes depth-of-field preview, a self-timer, and a film type reminder dial under the rewind lever. (It is also far superior in construction to the later-production plastic-encased K1000, which also had the film advance and other internals cheapened in the process.) Otherwise, the two are identical in being based off of the Spotmatic F, the most advanced mechanical M42 screwmount model in the Pentax lineup. The viewfinder, mechanical shutter with 1 - 1/000sec. + Bulb range, and metering are all the same. The 55mm f/2 lens is a Pentax classic that is a tremendous value based on the image quality it delivers for the price. Build quality is superb. This particular camera and lens combo is in beautiful condition with slight finish wear. Mechanically and optically they are excellent. They have been film-tested and the meter is accurate. The camera has new light seals. A new Maxell SR44 silver oxide battery for the meter is included and packaged separately. Lens takes 52mm filters and comes with a front cap. Combined weight is 865 grams. A PDF of the user manual can be emailed with purchase upon request. Please contact us with any questions you have.
