Pentax PC35AF-M SE Compact Auto Focus w/ 35mm f2.8 Lens in Excellent Condition
This is the final version of Pentax' 1st-generation premium compact AF camera that appeared in 1985. It added a built in motor drive and DX film coding over the original PC35AF, and had a restyled grip and black shutter button from the P35AF-M. It has a high-quality 5-element lens that performs very well. It sports a sping-loaded clamshell cover released by the little red switch on the front of the camera to protect the lens and viewfinder and serves as the OFF/ON switch. Shutter speeds range from 1/8 - 1/500 of a second. The camera indicates when to use flash with a red/green lamp in the viewfinder with an accompanying beep. The flash pops up only when the red lever is manually pushed on the left side of the camera, giving the user the option to override the camera's recommendation if so desired. There is also a handy +1.5 EV override button on the top of the camera that helps when shooting against strong back lighting or light sand or snow, all of which fool the meter into underexposing. The viewfinder is excellent, featuring a distance indicator needle that travels along the bottom to show approximately where the camera has focused giving the user the opportunity to check if the camera is focused on the desired subject. Overall condition of this example is excellent. The battery compartment is clean and free of corrosion. The camera uses 2 AA batteries. Ni-MH or Ni-cads are not usable. Conventional or rechargeable alkalines are usable but we recommend lithium AAs as they are far less prone to leakage, last longer, and are great for use in cold weather. Batteries are not included. All functions work perfectly.Just pop in batteries and film and you're set! Camera weighs 340 grams without batteries. Feel free to contact us with any questions.
