Pentax Spotmatic w/ 55mm f/1.8 Super Takumar Lens in Very Good Condition
The most popular SLR of the 1960s is a true classic. With it's simple center-the-needle TTL (Through-The-Lens) metering and comfortable ergonomics, the Spottie makes for a great vintage SLR experience. The 55/1.8 Super Takumar is a perfect match, with its killer build quality and beautiful rendition. This particular lens has been UV-treated to remove the yellowish cast from a single radioactive element (not harmful unless you grind it up and inhale it, something we do not recommend ;-)). The camera and lens are in beautiful operating condition. The only cosmetic problems are: some de-silvering of the prism, which has no effect on pictures, but shows up as dark grey smudge in the viewfinder and some engraving and scratches on the bottom plate. Therefore we have discounted this body. The meter is accurate and is powered with a single inexpensive 384/392 silver oxide battery with an o-ring surrounding it to give the same diameter as the original now-obsolete 1.35V mercury cell. The Spotmatic uses a bridge circuit which means that the 0.2V difference between the battery types does not affect the meter's accuracy. This camera has new light seals and has been film tested. It comes with a separately-packaged battery and front lens cap. A PDF manual is available upon request via email. Weight is 830 grams. Feel free to contact us with any inquiries.
