Minolta Hi-Matic 7s in Immaculate Condition w/ Original Full-Grain Leather Case
Minolta's top fixed-lens rangefinder when introduced in 1966, the Hi-Matic 7s was packed with advanced features for its day and makes for a great street shooter even today. It boasts a beautiful 6-element 45mm f/1.8 lens that takes 55mm filters, a fully mechanical lens shutter with speeds from 1/500 - 1/2 sec., your choice of fully programmed or metered manual exposure, ISO speeds from 25 - 800 with an integrated OFF switch for the meter. It also has a wonderful parallax-compensating rangefinder (meaning that the viewfinder framelines automatically adjust as you focus) with a central yellow/blue diamond rangefinder patch. All you do to focus is match up the yellow & blue lined double image and your subject will be in focus. The shutter is a Seiko LA that is whisper quiet. The 7s also features Minolta's proven CLC metering system (of SRT fame) and it includes a Safe Load Signal to indicate whether the film is properly loaded. This feature didn't make it to the SRTs until the mid-1970s. This particular 7s is in superb condition, with all optical surfaces clean and clear (including the range and view finders). The shutter/aperture blades are snappy and oil-free. The racheting film advance is smooth and positive. The light seals are in such good shape that we did not replace them per our usual policy. Best of all, the metering system is working perfectly with an original PX-625 1.35V mercury cell providing the power. It will be packaged separately with the camera. The camera also comes with its original Minolta push-on lens cap and exquisite full-grain leather case. This 7s has been fully film-tested and comes with our 14-day full-satisfaction and 90-day warranty against failures of workmanship or materials. Weight is 730 grams (25 oz.)
