Pentax Takumar Bayonet 28mm f/2.8 Lens in Excellent Condition
This was a budget wide-angle K-mount lens from Pentax in the early-'80s. Budget does not mean flimsy in this case, as the mechanical construction is very good for a lens of this caliber. It shared the optical formula of its SMC-M brother but used simpler single-coatings for its 7 elements in 7 groups construction. Optical performance is therefore identical to the SMC-M 28/2.8 but with a bit less contrast and poorer flare resistance; using a lens shade should be considered mandatory for best performance. This example has clear optics, minimal interior dust, a dry & snappy aperture, and smooth, well-damped focusing. Weight is 180 grams (6.3 oz) and takes 49mm filters. Front and rear caps included.
